The GASTEC system – fast, easy and safety measurement of hazardous materials.

The detector tube method permitts a simple, quick, and economical analysis at the working site. The Gastec standard detector tube system consists of the GV-100 gas sampling pump and gastec standard detector tubes. They can analyze a wide range of gases and vapors accurately, quickly and easily.

The tubes are also very easy to store because of their long shelf life of nearly 3 years.

The Gastec standard detector tubes

Gastec standard detector tubes are thin glass tubes with calibration scales printed on them by which you can directly read concentrations of the substances (gases and vapors) to be measured.

Each tube contains detecting reagent(s) that are especially sensitive to the target substances and quickly produce a distinct layer of color change. The tubes are hermetically sealed.

Break off both ends and connect the tube to the Model GV-100 Gas Sampling Pump to activate it.

Only three steps for measurement:

1. Insert the detector tube end straight into the tube tip breaker of the Pump. Rotate the detector tube so that the diamond cutter of the tube tip breaker scratches the surface of the tube end. Hold the detector tube firmly near the tube tip breaker and bend the tube in your direction so that you break the tube tip.

2. Please make sure that the pump handle is fully pushed in. Then you can insert the detector tube into the rubber inlet of the Pump with the arrow on the tube pointing towards the pump. Align the guide mark on the black plate and the guide mark on the handle. Direct the tube end to the point of measurement and pull out the full or halfway along the guide line to the lock position.

3. Wait until the sampling time has elapsed. The completion of the sampling of 100 ml or 50 ml can be confirmed by the flow finish indicator on the handle.
